Senior Linux Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Senior Linux Engineer you will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining the companys Linuxbased infrastructure. You will work closely with our IT and development teams to ensure high availability security and scalability of our systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing Linux environments strong scripting skills and a passion for problemsolving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design deploy and maintain Linuxbased systems and infrastructure.
• Optimize system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of Linux servers.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system issues identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and operation in Linux environments.
• Implement and enforce security policies to protect systems from vulnerabilities and threats.
• Automate tasks using scripting languages Bash Python Perl to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
• Manage system backups updates and patching to ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations procedures and processes.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers providing guidance and knowledge sharing to foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in Linux systems engineering.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
• 5 years of experience in Linux systems engineering with a focus on enterprise environments.
• Expertise in Linux distributions such as Red Hat CentOS Ubuntu or similar.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash Python or Perl.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols security practices and system administration tools.
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible Puppet or Chef.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms AWS Azure Google Cloud and containerization Docker Kubernetes is a plus.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proactive attitude towards learning and improvement.
