Controller
Job Description: Our client a prominent construction company is currently seeking a Controller to lead their finance team. The Controller will oversee financial operations reporting directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Analyze monthly quarterly and annual financial reports to provide insights into business performance and inform strategic decisionmaking.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process collaborating with department heads to establish financial targets and monitor performance against goals.
- Manage cash flow treasury functions and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and maximize returns on investments.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements and timely completion of audit deliverables.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management including analysis of key performance indicators profitability and costsaving opportunities.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams on special projects such as system implementations process improvements and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience including managerial roles.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial software applications.
- Experience in the construction industry or related field is preferred.
