Job Description
Wine Waiter Cruise Ship
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests and provide them with menus and wine lists
Assist guests in selecting wines that pair well with their meal choices
Provide recommendations and descriptions of different wines to guests
Take orders and serve wine in a timely and professional manner
Ensure all wine glasses are clean and polished
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the wine list and be able to answer any questions from guests
Monitor and maintain the wine inventory including ordering and restocking as needed
Ensure all wines are stored and served at the correct temperature
Collaborate with the kitchen and other wait staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests
Handle any guest concerns or complaints regarding wine with professionalism and resolve any issues promptly
Adhere to all company and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a wine waiter or sommelier in a fine dining establishment
Extensive knowledge of different types of wine regions and food pairings
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
Must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid alcohol serving certification
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
