Overview
The Learning and Development Trainer plays a crucial role in the organization by designing and delivering training programs to enhance employee performance and skills development. The trainer is responsible for assessing learning needs developing effective training materials and facilitating engaging learning experiences for employees. This role is instrumental in ensuring that the organizations workforce is equipped with the knowledge and skills required to meet business objectives and succeed in their roles.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and learning objectives
- Design and develop engaging and interactive training materials and resources
- Deliver training programs using a variety of instructional techniques and delivery methods
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation programs for new employees
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and uptodate
- Provide coaching and support to employees to reinforce learning and skill development
- Utilize learning management systems to manage training activities and track employee progress
- Stay updated on learning and development best practices and industry trends
- Support organizational change initiatives through training and development interventions
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align training programs with business goals
- Evaluate and select external training vendors or resources when necessary
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in training activities
- Conduct posttraining evaluations and analysis to measure training effectiveness
- Prepare training reports and communicate training outcomes to management
Required qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Education Human Resources Organizational Psychology or related field
- Proven experience as a trainer training facilitator or learning and development specialist
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles
- Strong understanding of training needs assessment and evaluation methodologies
- Proficiency in utilizing learning management systems and elearning tools
- Excellent presentation communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt training content for diverse audiences with varying learning styles
- Experience in designing and delivering technical soft skills and leadership training
- Knowledge of industryspecific regulations and compliance requirements related to training
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful training programs
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Certification in training or instructional design (e.g. CPLP ATD Master Trainer) is a plus
- Experience in virtual training delivery and digital learning technologies is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
