Job Opportunity: Manager HR
Location: Project site Mesa Ancuabe area Cabo Delgado Province Mozambique
Reporting To: General Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer human resources plans and procedures in alignment with company policies.
- Plan organize and control HR department activities.
- Provide HR advice counsel and decisions to management based on information and analysis.
- Contribute to the development of HR department goals objectives and systems.
- Create and revise job descriptions and update the company s salary budget.
- Oversee recruitment efforts including writing and placing job ads.
- Conduct employee orientations and provide employee relations counseling.
- Maintain department records and reports and recommend new policies and procedures.
- Plan and implement manpower and training programs to ensure effective performance.
- Assist management with performance evaluations and recommend action plans for underperforming employees.
Conflict Resolution:
- Consult on Labour Relations matters and recommend disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy and Mozambique law.
- Administer grievance procedures and skills/termination processes.
- Investigate and document complex issues related to the work environment performance and policy violations.
- Provide advice on any threatened work stoppages.
Labour Relations:
- Develop proactive labour relations strategies including handling grievances and arbitration.
- Stay updated on current labour relations legislation and issues.
- Review and communicate HR policies related to labour relations.
- Represent the company in collective bargaining and related negotiations.
- Administer unemployment insurance processes and monitor program costs.
Litigation and Regulatory Compliance:
- Investigate and respond to claims and inquiries from regulatory and government agencies.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Postgraduate degree in Human Resources Labour Management or Business Administration (or equivalent).
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English with excellent communication skills.
- 810 years of experience in Human Resources with managerial experience preferred.
- Experience in the mining industry and/or remote locations is an advantage.
- Strong background in labour relations.
- Excellent management leadership and teambuilding skills.
- Proactive handson approach with strong problemsolving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a small team.
