Job Description

Finance Manager

Location: Pemba Mozambique
Department: Finance
Position Type: Fulltime
Job Grade: To be determined
Reports To: Financial Controller


Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee our financial accounting activities and support the Financial Controller in managing finance operations in compliance with corporate policies procedures and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Produce management accounts in accordance with the established timetable and participate in the preparation of statutory financial statements.
  • Transaction Oversight: Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded aligning with the approved budget and supported by valid documentation.
  • Financial Control: Establish and maintain financial discipline by reviewing all general ledger reconciliations monthly including subledger reviews and adhoc reconciliations.
  • Team Management: Monitor accounting staff deliverables to ensure compliance with the established timetable.
  • Inventory Management: Responsible for tracking and valuing gemstone inventory.
  • Asset Administration: Manage company asset information.
  • Invoicing & Compliance: Handle invoicing to third parties and follow up with clients banks customs brokers and others to ensure compliance and timely receipt of funds.
  • Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external and internal audits.
  • Data Preparation: Prepare supporting information and analyses for monthly/annual reviews and adhoc queries.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by the line manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Finance Accounting or Economics.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance Management.
  • Strong knowledge of finance principles and practices.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Basic computer skills are required.

  • Organization: Strong time management mental and physical organization and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Resilience: Ability to adapt and solve problems effectively under challenging conditions.

Special Conditions:
Flexible working hours including afterhours and weekends as required.
