Job Description

The Position

We are currently seeking an Environmental Regulatory & Permitting Specialist to join our team based out of our Edmonton or Whitecourt office. This is a fulltime permanent position that is focused on environmental regulatory applications and related projects. Project work is teambased safety driven and is completed for the energy and forest sectors and private landowners throughout the province.

Position Responsibilities

  • This position is accountable for safe and efficient project work;
  • Lead and manage project deliverables and working relationships with Woodlands peers management regulators and clients;
  • Maintain accurate records with exceptional organizational skills meeting deadlines and being able to prioritize on an ongoing basis.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experienced in Alberta Environment and Parks Alberta Energy Regulator and Department of Fisheries and Oceans online permitting application and report submission systems and processes;
  • Experienced in the enforcement of or direct application of the Public Lands Act Water Act Federal Fisheries Act Species at Risk Act Alberta Wetland Policy fish rescue licences and all associated regulations codes and conditions;
  • Experienced in current best management practices and regulatory requirements for environmental permitting applications and reporting requirements;
  • Field experience in water and fishrelated enforcement and / or assessments and construction practices.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership quality safety customer service focus and a high level of attention to detail with exceptional prioritization skills;
  • University Degree or technical diploma in natural resources including environmental law courses and 5 years of field experience.
