Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting excellent analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment. This role involves overseeing the general ledger preparing financial reports and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the general ledger including journal entries account reconciliations and monthend/yearend close processes.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets forecasts and financial reports for management review.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare and file tax returns ensuring compliance with local state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support strategic financial decisionmaking.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall financial goals and objectives.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff providing training and support as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with a focus on general ledger management and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAP Oracle QuickBooks Famous etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven experience in the industry in manufacturing agriculture or construction.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience with tax preparation and compliance is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
