Job Description

Job Overview:

The Computer Operator & Typist will be responsible for efficiently managing computer systems ensuring smooth operations and performing accurate and fast data entry tasks. This role requires proficiency in handling various software applications exceptional typing skills and the ability to maintain accuracy while working under deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry & Typing:

    • Perform accurate and timely data entry tasks.
    • Prepare and format documents reports and correspondence.
    • Transcribe information with high speed and accuracy.
    • Ensure all typed materials are free from errors and inconsistencies.
  • Computer Operations:

    • Monitor and manage computer systems to ensure optimal performance.
    • Perform routine checks on system operations hardware and software.
    • Troubleshoot minor technical issues and coordinate with IT support for complex problems.
    • Back up and maintain data according to company policies.
  • File Management:

    • Organize and maintain electronic and paper files in an efficient manner.
    • Retrieve and process information as required by other departments.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Provide general administrative assistance including scheduling communication and recordkeeping.
    • Assist in preparing presentations and other documentation as needed.
  • Quality Control:

    • Review and verify the accuracy of input and output data.
    • Correct errors as needed to ensure the integrity of information.
  • Customer Service:

    • Respond to internal and external inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
    • Provide technical support to staff and clients using computer systems.
  • Experience:

    • Proven experience as a computer operator or in a similar role.
    • Proficiency in typing with a minimum speed of X WPM (Words Per Minute).
    • Experience with word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Word Google Docs) and spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Excel).
  • Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in typing and data entry.
    • Ability to operate various computer systems and troubleshoot basic issues.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Other Requirements:

    • Flexibility to work in shifts if required.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
