Job description
This position is a key part of the accounting team interacting with business partners to develop inventory costing methodologies and investigate variances. The Cost Accountant will perform profitability analysis develop new product costs and maintain the integrity of our inventory data which will enable our business to scale. This is a handson role that requires someone who can perform the daytoday detailed responsibilities and who is comfortable interacting with other business leaders including plant management engineers marketing and sales personnel.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Pay: $65000.00 $85000.00 per year

The Cost Accountant will perform profitability analysis develop new product costs and maintain the integrity of our inventory data which will enable our business to scale. This is a handson role that requires someone who can perform the daytoday detailed responsibilities and who is comfortable interacting with other business leaders including plant management engineers marketing and sales personnel.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate costs are maintained for raw materials and products.
- Develop and maintain annual labor and overhead rates to be used in product costing.
- Analyze and explain significant changes in profitability of products determine root cause and suggest corrective actions.
- Analyze and explain profitability variances to forecast and budget.
- Collaborates with New Product Development team for new item setup bill of material and cost for new products.
- Assists in the analysis of Cycle Counts and annual physical inventory.
- Evaluate inventory for potential Excess and Obsolete items.
- Perform adhoc financial analysis as needed to support business.
- BA/BS in accounting or finance.
- Minimum two years of cost accounting experience.
- Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures.
- Experience in manufacturing distribution or supply chain.
- Knowledge of MS Office (advanced Excel) and ERP systems.
- 2 Years of direct experience with Costing and Inventory
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Demonstrated superior oral written and interpersonal communication persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical ability organization project management and leadership skills
- Ability to successfully interface at all levels within a company.
Pay: $65000.00 $85000.00 per year
