The Role:
Exciting opportunities exists for Consultants/Specialists Urologist to further develop the long-standing Urology Services in the Hospital.

The future plans involve a stand-alone Urological unit. The appointed Surgeons will join a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) to contribute toward the realisation of this vision.

The appointees will assist the Director of Surgery in:

• Ensuring that Specialist Urology services provided to the Hospital and Health Service are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.
• The education and supervision of surgical trainees and other medical staff, medical students, and allied health, interested community groups and nursing staff.

The day-to-day management of surgical services including active participation in patient safety, clinical audit, research and service planning activities. The provision of surgical services for the Hospital and Health Service is provided as one service, multiple sites.

The Department:
The Hospital has four operating theatres and two procedure rooms with the operating theatre complex supported by a 10 bed ICU/HDU. The Department is accredited for specialist training and is heavily involved in teaching and research.

Essential:
Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Urology with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in the speciality of Urology.

Visiting Specialists:
Salary rates between $262.98 - $283.79 p.h. (VS.04 VSS.01)
VMO Fuel Allowance
