Job Description

We are looking to hire an Indian Chef (North Indian Cuisine Specialist) for one of our clients.

Client Overview:
Our client is a prominent restaurant chain based in Colombo known for delivering an exceptional dining experience through authentic and diverse cuisine. They are expanding their culinary offerings and are in search of a skilled and experienced Indian Chef who specializes in North Indian cuisine to join their team and elevate their menu.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef specializing in North Indian cuisine with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise.
  • Indepth knowledge of traditional North Indian cooking techniques spices and ingredients.
  • Previous experience in a highvolume restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to align with the clients operational and culinary goals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English; knowledge of Hindi or other Indian languages is an advantage.
  • Culinary certification or equivalent experience in North Indian cuisine is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the client to design and develop a variety of authentic North Indian dishes including curries tandoori items biryanis and traditional desserts.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook highquality dishes according to traditional North Indian recipes ensuring consistency in taste and presentation aligned with the clients standards.
  • Ingredient Sourcing: Work with suppliers to source premium ingredients particularly spices and essentials to maintain the authenticity and quality expected by the client.
  • Kitchen Management: Manage the daily operations of the kitchen ensuring compliance with food safety hygiene standards and effective inventory management.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and train kitchen staff fostering a team environment that meets the clients standards for North Indian cuisine.
  • Quality Control: Ensure high standards of food quality presentation and portion control consistently delivering dishes that meet customer satisfaction and client expectations.
  • Innovation: Develop new recipes and menu items to keep the offerings fresh and appealing while staying true to North Indian culinary traditions in line with the clients vision.
  • Customer Interaction: Engage with guests to gather feedback and provide recommendations enhancing the dining experience according to the clients customer service standards.
