Job Description
What we are looking for
We are looking for a highly competent Financial Controller to join our dynamic and growing team. As the Financial Controller you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and reporting across our operations in Kenya Uganda Tanzania USA and India. This role is crucial in ensuring financial integrity compliance with regulations and providing strategic financial guidance to support the companys growth and mission.
What does the job involve
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with local regulations and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Oversee daytoday financial operations including accounts payable accounts receivable payroll reconciliations and general ledger functions.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Monitor cash flow budgeting and forecasting processes to maintain liquidity and support strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
- Incoordination with local subsidiary accountants coordinate and manage audits conducted by external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Provide monthly and quarterly financial management reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stayupdated with changes in financial regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the fintech industry in the markets of operation.
- Oversee all intercompany transactions and apply transfer pricing policy and process.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company objectives and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field. A Masters degree or CPA (or equivalent) qualification is highly desirable.
- Proven experience (7 years) in external audit or as a Financial Controller or similar role ideally with work experience in financial services and experience operating in multiple markets.
- Thorough understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience in financial reporting.
- Experience in US GAAP is a bonus.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior management and external stakeholders.
- Experience in managing and leading a team of finance professionals.
