You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Therapist II - Respiratory possesses intermediate-to-expert knowledge of Pediatric and/or Neonatal cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology. S/he has intermediate-to-expert knowledge and clinical acumen in the use of all medical devices and techniques used in respiratory therapy for the Pediatric and/or Neonatal patient population. S/he demonstrates intermediate-to-advanced level professional skills relevant to patient assessment, disease identification and evaluation, and administration of clinical therapeutic, interventional, and diagnostic care. He/she demonstrates the knowledge and skills to participate in education of the patient, family and public.The Therapist II - Respiratory is responsible for ensuring that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard.The Therapist II - Respiratory participates in the supervision and teaching of junior and new members of staff within the department.
KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Provides unit based specialty leadership and direction in the performance of basic and advanced clinical procedures and interventions.
• Follows all hospital related policies and procedures. Participates in the development of evidence based policies and procedures relevant to Respiratory Therapy as needed.
• Acts in the role of Preceptor/mentor for oncoming staff/students in all areas of clinical care.
• Collaborates with all medical, nursing and ancillary stakeholders to ensure a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
• Participates in Quality Assurance, Utilization Review and Performance improvement activities as required.
• Obtains and maintains all clinical core competencies of the Respiratory Therapy Services department.
• Responsible for maintaining up to date mandatory Life Support Training requirements as directed by MoPH and Sidra (e.g. BLS, AED etc).
• Demonstrates culturally appropriate behavior whilst working within the State of Qatar.
• Participates in the promotion and maintenance of effective communication and teamwork. Treats colleagues, patients, and visitors with dignity and respect at all times.
• Upholds the organizational values at all times.
• Attends departmental staff meetings and education days to provide and exchange information.
