Job Description
Job title: Facilitator for a 17yearold neurodivergent teen in Constantia area.
Main Purpose of the job:
To be a helping hand to an individual with unique and specific support needs giving her the necessary guidance and support to thrive. A special interest and passion to be a secure and consistent source of support is of the utmost importance.
The candidate will be trained by the NDC Facilitation Academy and thereafter receive personalised support from a registered counsellor for up to one month working in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team.
Job Objectives:
Build a trusting relationship with the learner and providing nervous system safety.
Attending school with her to provide support and scaffolding within her immediate school environment.
Acting as a bridge of communication between the teacher learner and parents.
Assisting with breaking down tasks and chunking information as and when needed and implementing movement/sensory breaks throughout the day when needed.
Facilitate her understanding and academic learning in social structured and unstructured domains when needed.
Support and encourage her to develop on her executive functioning around planning organising problemsolving asking for help etc.
Support and scaffolding to help lessen any uncertainties and possible anxiety that may be experienced. (Preempting any possible triggers)
Liaising with her current multidisciplinary team and consistently implementing support structures given from the therapists and parents when needed.
Working hours:
Monday Friday: 08:00 14:00.
Salary: R9000 R10 000.

Requirements
General Requirements:
Fluent in English and Afrikaans Essential.
Driver s license and own reliable car Essential.
Job Related work experience.
Previous experience in a schooling environment/facilitating role Desirable.
Previous experience working with neurodivergent children Essential.
Job Related Knowledge:
Familiarity and knowledge of autism spectrum condition (ASC) Essential.
Familiarity and knowledge of Attentiondeficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) Essential.
Familiarity and knowledge of pathological demand avoidance (PDA) Desirable.
Familiarity with a low demand PDA friendly approach Essential.

Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills Essential.
