Job Description: Telecommunications Network Engineer
Are you a seasoned Telecommunications Network Engineer with over 8 years of experience Were looking for someone like you to join our dynamic team. You will be the unsung hero ensuring the invisible threads of our telecommunication networks stay seamlessly connected and fully functional. Think of yourself as the conductor of a highspeed train system where every detail counts to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and Manage WAN Technologies: Imagine the network as a complex highway system. You will manage highways like SONET (OC3 OC48 OC192) DS3 and T1 making sure data travels quickly and safely from one destination to another.
- Operate and Maintain Taclanes/KG175: Consider these as highsecurity gates that guard information as it moves across the network. Youll be responsible for ensuring these gates are secure and operational.
- Handle MPLS BGP VPNs: Think of these elements as the intricate roadmaps and tunnels of the information superhighway. Youll manage these to ensure smooth travel for data packets avoiding any traffic jams or roadblocks.
- Obtain IAT Level II Baseline Certification: This is like earning a specialized drivers license for network engineers proving you have the skills to handle and safeguard critical network operations as outlined by DoD 8570.01M.
- Security Clearance Requirements: Imagine holding the keys to the highest security vaults; you must have a TS/SCI polygraph clearance to ensure youre trusted with the most sensitive information.
Qualifications:
- 8 Years of Experience: Extensive handson experience in telecommunications and network engineering.
- WAN Technologies: Proficient in supporting SONET (OC3 OC48 OC192) DS3 and T1.
- Securing Data: Experience with Taclanes/KG175 ensuring encrypted data transmission.
- Network Protocols: Strong background in MPLS BGP and VPNs.
- Certification: IAT Level II baseline certification is required upon start.
- Security Clearance: Must possess a TS/SCI polygraph clearance.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in TCP/IP OSPF BGP MPLS SIP H.323 and QoS.
- Hardware Knowledge: Extensive experience with Cisco Juniper Huawei and other leading network hardware providers
- Software Tools: Proficiency in network analysis and monitoring tools such as Wireshark SolarWinds and Nagios.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP CCIE JNCIP or equivalent are highly desirable.
