The Job

As the Head of Collections Unsecured Loan Book you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the collections process for our unsecured loan portfolio. You will lead a team of collection professionals and leverage advanced data analytics to design and implement strategies that minimize delinquencies and maximize recoveries. This role requires a strong blend of leadership strategic thinking data analytics and risk management skills. Report directly into VP Collections.

Key Responsibilities:

Collections Strategy Development:

• Develop and refine the collections strategy for the unsecured loan book.
• Utilize data analytics to segment customers and tailor collection strategies based on risk profiles and delinquency trends.
• Continuously evaluate and update collection policies to align with changing market conditions and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of collection specialists providing guidance training and support to ensure high performance.160 fte. To grow to 300fte within 2yrs
• Foster a collaborative and resultsoriented team culture.
• Set clear performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the collections team and track progress.

Data Analytics and Reporting:

• Leverage data analytics tools and techniques to analyze historical data and identify patterns that can inform collection strategies.
• Develop predictive models to assess customer creditworthiness and default probabilities.
• Create regular reports and dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of collection efforts and provide actionable insights to senior management.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regulations and internal policies governing collections.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the collections process.
• Collaborate with the risk management team to optimize credit risk models and strategies.

Customer Engagement:

• Implement customercentric communication strategies to engage with delinquent customers in a respectful and empathetic manner.

Continuous Improvement:

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the collections function seeking innovative ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in collections.

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelors degree in finance business economics or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
• Proven experience in collections management with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong proficiency in data analytics including experience with data mining predictive modeling and statistical analysis.
• Excellent understanding of regulatory compliance and risk management in the financial industry.
• Exceptional leadership interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to make datadriven decisions and present findings to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• A track record of successfully implementing collection strategies that optimize recoveries and minimize losses.
• Knowledge of industry software and tools related to collections and data analytics.
