Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Define the overarching program vision goals and roadmap
- Develop the business case to justify and gain sponsorship for the program
- Create a program management plan covering scope schedule resources risks and governance
- Determine interdependencies between projects and sequence workstreams logically
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Identify key stakeholders both internal (e.g. project managers functional leaders) and external (vendors partners)
- Set clear expectations among sponsors steering committees and project teams
- Communicate program status milestones issues and change requests effectively across stakeholders
- Manage stakeholder interests and resolve conflicts
Program Governance and Oversight:
- Define program governance framework including steering committee meetings status reporting change control processes etc
- Continuously monitor project health interdependencies resource allocation and risk mitigation activities
- Provide consolidated reporting and analysis on schedule budget scope performance
- Identify program level risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Lead program change control and incorporate alterations from projects
Team Leadership:
- Build a high performing program management office team with appropriate structure and staffing
- Coach motivate and support project managers to enable their success
- Promote collaboration best practice sharing and issue escalation between project managers
- Define templates tools and standards for consistent project delivery

- Ensure initiatives align to strategic goals and help drive expected business outcomes
- Develop success criteria metrics and benefits realization plan
- Track and report on realization of benefits across program lifecycle
- Institute processes for incorporating lessons learned and best practices after program closure

- 18 Years of experience individual responsible for managing multiple related projects to achieve a strategic objective on time and within budget. Whereas project managers focus on the execution of individual projects
- Strategic thinking: Ability to connect initiatives to overarching business goals and develop longterm vision/roadmaps
- Stakeholder management: Skilled at communicating with diverse stakeholders setting expectations and driving consensus
- Leadership: Strong at enabling teams managing performance resolving issues and influencing without authority
- Program governance: Adept at implementing processes for schedule/budget tracking risk monitoring and change control
- Problemsolving: Logical thinker able to troubleshoot program bottlenecks and guide interdependent projects
- Technical knowledge: Understands project delivery approaches to provide oversight across complex initiatives
