Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records managing daytoday accounting tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Keeping:

    • Maintain and update financial records including ledgers journals and balance sheets.
    • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and documented.
    • Prepare and process accounts payable and receivable.
  • Bank Reconciliation:

    • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Payroll Processing:

    • Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate calculation of wages deductions and taxes.
    • Maintain payroll records and handle any payrollrelated inquiries.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare financial reports including profit and loss statements balance sheets and cash flow statements.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Tax Preparation:

    • Prepare and file tax returns ensuring compliance with local state and federal regulations.
    • Assist with tax audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
  • General Administrative Support:

    • Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.
    • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or higher in Accounting Finance or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
    • Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
    • Previous experience in agriculture industry is preferred.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent numerical and data entry skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to multitask prioritize and manage time effectively.
    • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
