Job Description

Trevor Frances Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Purchasing Associate to ensure a seamless inbound supply of raw and finished materials to various facilities and customers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work under the guidance of our clients Corporate Purchasing Manager and collaborate with suppliers to support various internal groups including Customer Service Production Planning Corporate Inventory Supply Chain and all Production Facilities.

Job Purpose:

The Supply Chain Purchasing Specialist will utilize our clients information systems including JD Edwards Power BI and Supplier Portals to manage the purchasing balance across their network of production sites while maintaining key corporate goals and objectives. They will also look to automate processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter purchase orders and schedule arrivals for the Toronto location.
  • Monitor and enforce purchasing allocations at corporate locations.
  • Follow up with suppliers on strategic demand requirements and corporate schemes.
  • Maintain JD Edwards pricing integrity.
  • Set up vendors.
  • Assist with product/raw material quote requests from Production Planners Business Development Sales and Customer Service.
  • Participate in inventory management with our bulk terminal network and warehouses.
  • Provide backup and assistance to other team members as needed.
  • Engage in project work as required.

Skills:

  • Negotiation and ProblemSolving: Strong skills in negotiating and resolving issues with suppliers and meeting plant requirements.
  • Purchasing Goals and Balance: Ability to maintain purchasing goals and balance across our network of plants.
  • Multitasking: Capable of managing multiple priorities in a busy work environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in learning and utilizing various software programs including Microsoft Office applications JD Edwards SAP and Oracle.
  • Prioritization: Ability to prioritize workload effectively.

Unique Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience: 23 years of experience in purchasing or related purchasing functions in a B2B environment.
  • Computer Literacy: Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems (JD Edwards SAP Oracle).
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: General understanding of supply chain functions and current issues.
  • Customs Documentation: Familiarity with customs documentation.
  • Inventory Control Management: Relevant experience in inventory control management and purchasing.
