The Role

Role Overview:

The Senior Team Lead for Collections will play a critical role in managing and guiding the collections team to achieve company goals. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing effective collection strategies monitoring team performance and handling complex collection cases to ensure timely and efficient resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead mentor and motivate a team of collection team leaders fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Strategy Development: Develop implement and refine collection strategies to maximize recovery rates and minimize delinquencies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor team performance through KPIs providing regular feedback and coaching to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Case Management: Handle escalated and complex collection cases ensuring they are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Customer
  • Service and Risk Management to optimize the collections process and improve overall customer experience.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on team performance collection rates and other relevant metrics to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure all collection activities comply with relevant laws regulations and company policies.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience:

  • Must have experience in managing team leaders
  • Currently working in retail credit or 3rd party agency
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in collections or a related field with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Must have experience in managing a team of 50 FTEs
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Finance Business Administration or a related field preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
    Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and utilize data effectively.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational and problemsolving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with collections software and tools as well as proficiency in MS Office Suite.
