Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a driven and passionate Kitchen Manager to join our team. This individual must have a passion for culinary arts and possess great leadership skills. He/She should also be positive and personable with the ability to drive results and high standards.
The Kitchen Manager's responsibility is to directly manage all back of house functionality of the business. This includes directing the preparation of food delegating responsibilitites to the team and setting up stations for food service.

This is a working Chef position which means he/she must be able to prepare food quickly to the set specifications and standards while maintaining hygienic practices.
The Kitchen Manager also arranges prepares and closes the stations of the kitchen storage areas and refrigerators.




Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage employee scheduling hiring and disciplinary actions.
  • Inventory and ordering.
  • Oversee/set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service.
  • Prepare a variety of foods: meat seafood poultry vegetable and cold food items
  • Organize sauces and additional garnishes for the designated station.
  • Properly cover date and store all ingredients and food preparation items.
  • Ensure that menu items are served in accordance with established standards.
  • Use food preparation tools in accordance with manufacturing instructions.
  • Ensure proper closure of the kitchen and adhere to the closing checklist for all kitchen stations.
  • Maintain a clean work area throughout the entire shift.
  • Make sure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately.
  • Adhere to safe and hygienic food handling practices.
  • Assist with all duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in a similar capacity.
  • Prior line cook supervisory and Management experience in a fast paced high intensity setting.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Be able to reach bend stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
