Job Description

Tasks

The Policy Manager will report to the Global Policy Director and will be responsible for:

  • Finding understanding analyzing and explaining the implications of Artificial Intelligence policies for global enterprises and operationalizing compliance for key regulations (e.g. EU AI Act Data Governance Act Data Act AI Liability Directive).
  • Building and advancing multistakeholder relationships and partnerships within the European Union particularly with the European Commission Parliament and Council as well as European standardization bodies (ETSI CEN/CENELEC).
  • Tracking developing and analyzing policy proposals and legislative activities; preparing drafts of timely and compelling advocacy materials for internal and external use.
  • Preparing presentations and policy papers for other policy professionals lawyers lawmakers and government officials.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of policymaker coalitions.
  • Providing leverage to the leadership team by monitoring and analyzing the fastmoving body of legislative and executive actions related to artificial intelligence across the European Union.
  • Tracking and analyzing EU Member State campaigns and initiatives producing materials needed to engage key stakeholders and target decisionmakers on specific opportunities for action and utilizing your own connections/network to engage these decisionmakers and key stakeholders.

Expectations:

Academic Background:

Required: Undergraduate or graduate degree in Public Policy Public Administration International Affairs Political Science Economics or Law.

Preferred: Experience or familiarity with computer science data science Information Technology and Information Systems Information Science Software Engineering Computer Engineering and Cybersecurity.

Required:

  • 5 years experience in qualitative and/or quantitative policy analysis
  • Indepth knowledge of Artificial Intelligence policy & Data Science Policy
  • Project management experience
  • European Union government relations experience & network

Preferred:

  • European Commission/Parliament/Council experience & network / familiarity with and knowledge of EU Ordinary Legislative Procedure
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with global/multi stakeholder processes and organizations such as ISO ETSI CEN/CENELEC OECD UN NATO
