Chemical Laboratory Technician II

Location: 3800 W. 143rd Street Cleveland OH 44111

Type: 5 months contract on W2

Shift: MondayFriday typically 8:00am4:30pm with a lunch break and some flexibility earlier or later. No mandatory OT.

Job Details:

• Level II: 25 years.
• Under direct supervision performs a variety of routine laboratory tests experimental batch preparation and scale up.
• Job responsibilities include operating destructive testing equipment handling chemicals maintaining experimental records maintaining a clean and hazardfree workspace following experimental procedures effectively communicating experimental results and any other tasks as required to meet commercial development objectives.

Requirements:

• Necessary skills include laboratory experience safe chemical handling and maintaining experiment notes.
• Experience with compounding materials and use of test equipment such as viscometers and force testing equipment is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint also a plus.
• The candidate must be able to lift 30 pounds be able and willing to handle hazardous chemicals be able to operate chemical equipment be able to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses lab coat and safety shoes and able to safely work in a laboratory environment.
• Associates degree in a scientific field with 2 years of experience or a high school diploma with 3 years of experience is strongly preferred.
