Legal Assistant

Job Title: Legal Assistant
Location: Carlsbad CA
Type: Full Time/Direct Hire
Will be working under the supervision of the HR Director and HR Manager
Minimum 5 years experience required assisting litigation attorneys preferably in medical malpractice or healthcare law
Responsibilities include maintaining attorneys calendar scheduling court appearances and meetings preparing and filing court documents and serving as a communication intermediary
Will also be responsible for generating all correspondence assisting with mail distribution and maintaining client files and records
Required skills include knowledge of law principles and procedures proficiency in MS Office Suite and online document management software and expertise in using Outlook Calendars for scheduling
Must be highly organized able to multitask have strong time management skills and excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience in tracking billing hours and knowledge of filing requirements for local state and federal courts required
