NL Head of Accounting

Our Client a leading European developer and investor of commercial real estate is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Accounting for their operations in the Netherlands. This role offers a great opportunity for a skilled professional to lead the accounting function manage financial reporting and drive strategic financial planning within a dynamic and growing environment.

Tasks

• Financial Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate financial statements in accordance with Dutch GAAP IFRS and internal policies.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial reports.

• Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop manage and monitor the annual budgeting process.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and forecasting to support business planning and strategic decisionmaking.

• Audit and Compliance:

• Coordinate internal and external audits ensuring all financial records are accurate and uptodate.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaise with tax advisors to optimize tax strategies.

• Financial Controls:

• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes.
• Monitor and improve financial systems and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

• Team Leadership:

• Manage and mentor a team of junior accountants creating a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Lead recruitment training and performance evaluations for the accounting department.

• Stakeholder Management:

• Act as the primary contact for financial matters with internal stakeholders including senior management and the board of directors.
• Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors tax advisors and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with experience in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of Dutch GAAP and IFRS.
• Proven experience in financial reporting budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
