Insurance Verification and Authorization Specialist - Virtual Assistant

This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless operations by verifying patient insurance coverage obtaining preauthorizations for procedures and maintaining accurate patient records.

Responsibilities:

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits to ensure accurate billing.
  

• Obtain preauthorizations from insurance providers for medical procedures.
  

• Update patient files with current and accurate insurance information.
  

• Liaise with insurance companies to clarify coverage details and resolve issues.
  

• Track and follow up on the status of pending insurance claims.
  

• Assist patients with insurancerelated queries and provide information as needed.
  

• Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.
  

• Perform data entry tasks and generate basic reports as required.
  

• Generate billing reports for management review.
  

• Coordinate with medical staff to manage daily schedules and patient appointments.
  

• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and records.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Insurance Verification Specialist or similar role in a healthcare setting.
  

• Strong understanding of insurance procedures medical billing and coding practices.
  

• Familiarity with Prompt EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and Google Workspace preferred.
  

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  

• Detailoriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and collaborate effectively with a team.
