Head of the medical department

As a member of the medical facility's board of directors, the Medical Director shares responsibilities for developing and implementing the organizations vision, values, strategic goals, as well as operational performance and safety.
Providing advice and support on clinical matters including service development, Medical Directors also help build and maintain strong relationships with leaders in their local health economy.
The Medical Director represents the organization they manage in clinical matters to external bodies including the media, the Care Quality Authority, charitable groups, academic institutions and medical schools.
