Senior Estimator

Growing Bay Area general contractor specializing in multifamily construction has an opening for an estimator. An estimator’s duties would include performing field takeoffs developing a scope of work for reconstruction projects creating an accurate estimate and submitting proposals on or before due dates. Although estimator will help with smaller estimates projects can range upwards of multimillions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform field takeoffs of occupied multifamily residential HOA community and occasionally commercial properties.
• Read plans and project manual to develop scope of work
• Develop scopes of work for projects without formal scope
• Understand scopes of work and components of multifamily construction including:
  • Balconies
  • Waterproofing
  • Windows and Sliding Glass Doors
  • Stucco
  • Siding
  • Painting
  • Roofing
• Complete accurate estimates and submit proposals on or before due dates
• Obtain quotations from potential material providers
• Obtain proposals from potential subcontractors for work that will not be performed inhouse
• Administer handoff meeting from Estimating to Project Management and Production staff upon award of contract
• Assist with the preparation change orders for ongoing projects
• Initiate and maintain relationships with clients subcontractors and vendors.
• Work closely with the company’s senior management team to ensure all necessary details are internally communicated to the appropriate parties

REQUIREMENTS:

• 35 years of multifamily construction estimating experience
• Driver’s License and ability to travel throughout all areas of construction sites during all phases of a project.
• Knowledge of reading plans
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Project.
• Adequate freehand drawing skills
• Exceptional communication i.e. working effectively with subcontractors suppliers design professionals clients and other project managers.
• Must have strong organizational skills flexibility and the ability to prioritize work assignments.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Availability to work extended hours as required by project schedules or urgent circumstances.

• Base Salary / Bonus: $130k$160k
