Job Description:
The Division of Environmental Health in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at USC is seeking a Temporary Project Specialist to support an ongoing communitybased research study on industrial toxics water quality and health impacts. This is an opportunity to learn new skills and work in collaboration with a diverse research team of public health researchers and environmental engineers. Moreover this role involves direct work with diverse communities and environmental justice organizations in Southern California.

The Project Specialist supports execution of certain participant facing aspects of the research project.
Responsibilities include:
(1) Working with Research Coordinator on recruiting participants organizing community events and sharing study results
(2) Communicating with potential participants and enrolling them in communitybased environmental health study
(3) Collecting environmental samples and survey data from participants in a community and household setting
(4) Working with Research Coordinator on creating community appropriate materials for health science communication

Excellent communication skills are required. Experience working directly with racial and ethnic diverse communities and bilingual in EnglishSpanish proficiency is required as many participants will be Spanish speakers. This is a temporary position with opportunities to extend. A degree in public health or environmental sciences is a plus.

Minimum education: Bachelors degree
