Job Description
Role: Power BI Developer
Duration: 1920 Hours/ 12 months contract
Location: Bethesda MD Remote Prefer candidates from DMV areas and federal helathcare domian
Public Trust Clearance will be needed. Should be clearable.
Job Summary:
The Power BI Developer will be responsible for designing developing and deploying business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand their requirements developing data models creating interactive reports and dashboards and ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
**Report and Dashboard Development:**
**Data Modeling:**
- Develop and optimize data models to support reporting and analytics.
- Ensure data accuracy consistency and integrity across all reports and dashboards.
- Implement data transformations using Power Query (M language) and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
**Collaboration and Requirements Gathering:**
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting and analytics needs.
- Conduct requirements gathering sessions and document specifications.
- Provide training and support to endusers on how to use Power BI reports and dashboards.
**Data Integration:**
- Integrate data from various sources including databases cloud services and APIs.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to load data into Power BI.
- Ensure data is updated regularly and accurately.
**Performance Tuning:**
- Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance and scalability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues.
- Implement best practices for data visualization and report development.
**Security and Compliance:**
- Implement and maintain data security and access controls within Power BI.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Data Science or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Power BI including Power Query DAX and Power BI Service.
- Strong understanding of data modeling data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Experience with SQL and database management.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Microsoft Power BI certification is a plus.
