Hiire is helping Funcom hire a Senior Tools Programmer fortheir Engineeringteam.

From critically acclaimed The Longest Journey to the very first scifi MMO Anarchy Online to the brutal trials of Conan Exiles our 30year history has set our players uniquely up for a journey to the harsh world of Dune where the continual battle for survival and spice will bring a Legendary challenge.

The Funcom team consists of over 400 people located in 5 studios Norway the US Portugal Sweden and Romania. As part of Funcoms ongoing growth and completing a successful turnaround Funcom is now backed by Tencent the largest online gaming company in the world!

Your Mission in Funcom

In this position you will be responsible for improving existing tools and delivering new ones by designing systems and features that match the requirements of other teams within the company. You will act as Technical Lead by taking part in code reviews coaching team members and guiding the team towards technical proficiency.

This is a position where the right candidate will have the chance to work endtoend on exciting projects and new tools to facilitate the development of our inhouse games. As a Senior Tools Programmer at Funcom you will use your experience to improve both the quality and robustness of the code as well as improve the enduser experiences.

How you can have an impact in your position:

Design and develop new tools to increase productivity in the game and content teams
Improve and extend existing tools and backend systems
Coach team members to improve their technical skills

We are looking for you to have:

Proficiency in Python
Proficiency in relational databases (such as PostgreSQL)
5 years of professional programming experience
Experience with C# or C
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (English is our working language)

In addition ideally you might also have:

Experience with fullstack web development
Experience working with Unreal Editor
Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
