The Electrical Engineer is responsible for maintaining electrical equipment to ensure the efficient delivery of water in the specified quality and quantity. This role involves collaboration with various managers and stakeholders to diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and implement improvements in electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical system faults.
- Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documents.
- Conduct regular operational analyses, preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Implement system modifications and new project installations related to electrical work.
- Maintain and optimize electrical standards for efficiency, performance, reliability, and cost.
- Ensure coordination within the team and manage risks associated with electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and maintain Low Voltage (LV) & Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear systems, protection systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), fire alarm systems, cathodic protection systems, Diesel Generator (DG) synchronization systems, and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS).
- Perform testing, verification, and maintenance of protection relays, MV switchgear panels, and hybrid solar systems.
- Prepare technical reports and budgetary documents for spare parts.
- Respond to maintenance calls during on-call rotation duty and submit innovative ideas annually.
Risk, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)
- Ensure health and safety compliance and environmental protection.
- Adhere to all QA/QC and environmental policies and procedures.
- Follow instructions to protect health, safety, and the environment.
- Submit Risk Identification Reports (RIR) to enhance work processes.
Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering Degree.
- 6-10 years of experience in electrical maintenance, particularly in water treatment.
- Experience working within a team.
- Work in both Arabic and English.
- Work rotation between the main office and base camp, including on-call duties every four weeks.
