Job Description
1. Planning and Coordination
Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures.
Plan and coordinate bus routes schedules and stops.
Ensure transportation services align with school schedules including regular school days field trips and extracurricular activities.

2. Safety and Compliance
Ensure all transportation activities comply with federal state and local regulations.
Implement and enforce safety protocols for drivers and students.
Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions for staff and students.
Ensure all buses and vehicles are properly maintained and meet safety standards.
Investigate and respond to transportationrelated incidents or accidents.
3. Staff Management
Recruit train and supervise bus drivers and transportation staff.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Organize ongoing training programs to ensure staff are uptodate with the latest safety and operational procedures.
4. Budgeting and Financial Management
Prepare and manage the transportation department budget.
Monitor expenses and identify costsaving opportunities.
Negotiate contracts with transportation service providers and suppliers.
5. Communication and Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents students and school staff regarding transportation issues.
Address and resolve transportationrelated complaints and concerns.
Communicate route changes delays and other important information to stakeholders in a timely manner.
6. Logistics and Operations Management
Oversee the daily operations of the transportation department.
Ensure timely and efficient dispatching of buses.
Manage the schools vehicle fleet including scheduling regular maintenance and repairs.
Monitor and optimize routes for efficiency and costeffectiveness.
7. RecordKeeping and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of transportation operations including schedules maintenance logs and incident reports.
Prepare regular reports on transportation performance safety incidents and budget status.
Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements from regulatory bodies.
8. Technology and Innovation
Implement and manage transportation management software and tools.
Stay updated with the latest technology and innovations in school transportation.
Introduce new technologies to improve safety efficiency and communication.
9. Environmental Responsibility
Promote and implement environmentally friendly transportation practices.
Monitor fuel consumption and explore options for more sustainable transportation solutions such as electric or hybrid vehicles.
10. Emergency Preparedness
Develop and maintain an emergency response plan for transportationrelated incidents.
Coordinate with local emergency services to ensure readiness in case of accidents or natural disasters.
