Sr ProjectProgram Manager

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Project/Program Manager to lead multiple concurrent projects from initiation through execution and closure in the area of the regulated Utility Business. This role will be pivotal in guiding the application teams transition from a traditional waterfall methodology to Agile practices. The successful candidate will champion Agile principles mentor the team and drive the cultural shift required for successful Agile adoption. They will ensure projects are delivered on time within scope and budget while maintaining high quality. This position will collaborate closely with business stakeholders development teams and other functions to align priorities and remove impediments to project success.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead and manage parallel projects through the full project lifecycle

2. Facilitate the transition from waterfall to Agile practices providing training coaching and mentorship to the application teams.

3. Develop and maintain project plans schedules risk registers and other project artifacts.

4. Define project scopes goals and deliverables that support business strategy in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

5. Manage project scope timelines budgets and resource allocation across multiple projects.

6. Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning daily standups retrospectives and demos.

7. Identify and resolve project risks issues and dependencies escalating as necessary.

8. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including business stakeholders developers and other functions to align priorities and ensure project success.

9. Continuously improve project management practices and processes to enhance efficiency.

10. Manage project interdependencies and implement or make recommendations on mitigation options to upper management

11. Proactively manage changes in project/program scope identify potential crises and prepare contingency plans.

12. Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitment in collaboration with senior management.

13. Develop and deliver progress reports proposals requirements documentation and presentations.

14. Coach mentor motivate and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

15. Organize project post mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements to pay attention to for future projects

16. Coach/mentor team members on Project Management skills

Education / Experience / Background

• Bachelors degree or equivalent required

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT project management

• Proven experience successfully leading and managing parallel complex IT projects

• Experience in working both independently and in a teamoriented collaborative environment is essential

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Strong experience in managing onshore and offshore teams

• Strong background in Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban etc.)

• Expertise in facilitating Agile transformations and driving cultural change.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices

• Strong leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience in digital transformation projects

• Proficient in project management tools and techniques (ex: Jira Confluence Smartsheet).

• Excellent leadership communication listening and interpersonal skills

• Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities

• Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently

• Persuasive encouraging and motivating

• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and userfriendly language

• Proven analytical and creative problemsolving abilities

• Experience in leading contract project teams

• Experience in digital transformation project

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

• Certification in project management (e.g. PMP PMIACP) is a plus.

• Scrum Master certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Local Position (Paramus NJ) with remote work allowed up to 3 days a week.
• Time flexibility required
