We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Yard Switcher/Driver to join our team. This role involves performing yard switching duties including staging trailers and driving activities within a 5mile radius of the Mill. The ideal candidate must be able to handle the physical demands of the job including frequent entry and exit from the vehicle and manual handling of equipment. This position offers guaranteed hours competitive pay and a range of benefits.

Work Schedule: The work week consists of Monday through Friday with staggered start times at 04:30 06:30 and 08:00. There is also potential for additional shifts on Saturdays and Sundays ranging from 4 to 8 hours per day. Drivers can expect to work an average of 66 hours per week with top performers working up to 78 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly Pay: $23 per hour; $24 per hour for lead drivers (Effective from 5/1/22)
• Pay Increases: Subject to customer contract negotiations
• Bonus: Quarterly safety bonus of $200
• Holiday Pay: $150 per day
• Vacation Pay: Average pay over the previous 52 weeks
• Guarantee Pay:
  • Minimum 40 hours per week per driver
  • Minimum 4 hours guaranteed for any offshift callin hours
  • Minimum 8 hours per day guaranteed for all Saturday and Sunday shifts

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform yard switching duties including staging trailers and other driving activities
• Operate within a 5mile radius of the Mill
• Withstand the physical demands of a spotter in an industrial setting involving continuous entry and exit from the vehicle
• Set jack stands move wheel chocks and drive over both paved and unpaved surfaces
• Work effectively in various weather conditions

Requirements:

• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the job including frequent entry and exit from the vehicle and manual handling of equipment
• Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and efficient performance in all yard switching and driving activities
• Experience in similar roles and adaptability to changing weather conditions are advantageous

Additional Information: Drivers will park onsite and return home daily. The job does not require driver unloading. While there is no specified rider program drivers can be assured of job stability with guaranteed hours. Average weekly pay is $1320 with top performers earning up to $1600 per week.
