Job Description

Job Duties:

  1. Supervising Cleaning Operations: Overseeing and coordinating the activities of sanitation staff to ensure all areas are cleaned according to schedule and standards.
  2. Training and Development: Training new employees on proper sanitation procedures safety protocols and the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  3. Quality Control: Conducting inspections and quality checks to ensure cleanliness meets regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  4. Inventory Management: Monitoring and ordering supplies such as cleaning agents equipment and protective gear to maintain adequate stock levels.
  5. Scheduling: Creating work schedules assigning tasks and coordinating coverage to ensure sanitation needs are met without interruption.
  6. Reporting and Documentation: Keeping records of cleaning activities inspections and any incidents or issues encountered and preparing reports for management.
  7. Safety Compliance: Enforcing safety guidelines and procedures to minimize accidents injuries and exposure to hazardous materials.
  8. Problem Solving: Addressing sanitation issues promptly investigating complaints or concerns and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of Sanitation Practices: Understanding of cleaning techniques sanitation regulations and industry standards relevant to the specific environment (e.g. food safety standards for food processing plants).
  2. Leadership and Supervisory Skills: Ability to lead a team delegate tasks effectively and provide guidance and support to staff.
  3. Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in conducting inspections and ensuring cleanliness standards are consistently met.
  4. Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication skills to train employees report findings and interact with management and external inspectors.
  5. ProblemSolving Abilities: Capacity to identify issues analyze root causes and implement solutions to maintain sanitation standards.
  6. Organizational Skills: Capability to manage time efficiently prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  7. Adherence to Safety Standards: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • Education or certifications related to sanitation or food safety.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a sanitation or related field is often required.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws regulations and industry standards is beneficial.

Overall a sanitation supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring a clean safe and compliant environment requiring both technical knowledge of sanitation practices and effective managerial skills to oversee a team and operations successfully.
