Job Description

We have a fantastic Opportunity for an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join our team in Scotland.

The SHEManager is responsible for developing implementing and managing the Health Safety andEnvironment (SHE) management system to ensure compliance with regulations standards and best practices. This role involves leading SHE initiatives promoting a culture of safety and quality and driving continuous improvement in SHE performance across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop implement and maintain the SHE management system policies procedures and standards in accordance with relevant legislation regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ensure alignment of SHE objectives with the organizations strategic goals and objectives integrating SHE considerations into business processes and decisionmaking.
  • Monitor and assess compliance with SHE regulations standards and internal requirements conducting audits inspections and reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that corrective and preventive actions are implemented in response to nonconformances incidents or audit findings and track their effectiveness over time.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify evaluate and mitigate risks to health safety environment and quality across all operational activities.
  • Develop and implement risk control measures safe work practices and emergency response procedures to minimise risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and deliver SHE training programs and initiatives for employees contractors and stakeholders to raise awareness promote best practices and build competency in SHE matters.
  • Provide coaching guidance and support to employees and managers on SHErelated issues fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure SHE performance and monitor progress towards targets and objectives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on SHE performance trends and areas for improvement and provide recommendations for action.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies customers suppliers and community groups to address HSEQ concerns share best practices and promote collaboration.
  • Represent the organisation in HSEQrelated forums committees and industry associations advocating for HSEQ excellence and innovation.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in occupational health and safety environmental management engineering or a related field.
  • Professional certification or chartered status in HSEQ (e.g. Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner Chartered Environmentalist) is desirable.
  • Proven experience in HSEQ management roles with a track record of successfully implementing HSEQ management systems and driving continuous improvement.
  • Indepth knowledge of HSEQ regulations standards and best practices applicable to the UK across multiple industries.
  • Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in risk management incident investigation and emergency response planning is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture environmental stewardship and quality excellence throughout the organization.
  • Willingness to travel to various work sites or locations as needed.
    Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours in emergency situations or to accommodate operational requirements
