Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Teacher of Psychology to join a prestigious international school in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will be passionate about psychology enthusiastic about teaching and committed to fostering a stimulating and supportive learning environment. You will be responsible for delivering highquality psychology instruction to high school students preparing them for their examinations and inspiring them to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive and engaging psychology curriculum that meets the academic standards and requirements of the school.
• Instruction: Deliver effective and innovative instruction in psychology to students utilizing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
• Assessment: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Student Support: Provide academic and emotional support to students addressing individual needs and fostering a culture of mutual respect and collaboration.
• Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of psychology and education. Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the schools academic community.
• Extracurricular Activities: Contribute to the schools extracurricular programs such as clubs workshops and events related to psychology and mental health.
• Parent and Community Engagement: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and the wider school community. Participate in parentteacher meetings and school events.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: A Bachelors degree in Psychology or a related field is required. A Masters degree in Psychology or Education is preferred.
• Certification: Teaching certification or licensure in psychology is required. International teaching certifications (e.g. IB Cambridge) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 23 years of teaching experience preferably in an international school setting. Experience teaching high school psychology courses is essential.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of psychology and its various subfields.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and differentiated lesson plans.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning.
