ESSENTIALDUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Empties waste baskets and removestrash. 2.Dusts surfaces that collectdust. 3.Vacuums carpeted floorsurfaces. 4.Damp wipes and cleansfurniture. 5.Cleans walls, windows and polishes metalsurfaces. 6.Cleans and polishes metal surfaces and porcelain fixtures inbathrooms. 7.Replenishes restroom consumablesupplies. 8.Dry and wet mops hard-surfacefloors. 9.Maintains and stocks janitorial closet at alltimes. 10.Picks up trash on a regular schedule during the shift or as neededfor special pickups. 11.Ensures that equipment is kept clean and reports any malfunctionsor safety hazards to thesupervisor. 12.Follows established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners andpower equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors andfixtures. 13.Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to preparecleaning solutions, according tospecifications. 14.Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additionsto building operatingsystems. 15.Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning andmaintenanceduties. 16.Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water orother cleaners, sponges, andsqueegees. 17.Responds to special requests from manager or customer for specialevents or other extra cleaningrequirements.
