Job Title: Designer

Location: Abilene TX 79602

Duration: 12 Months

Job Summary:

• Perform daily work activities with general supervision including computeraided drafting to prepare maps sketches schematics and other engineeringrelated drawings.
• The role also involves clerical tasks to manage and document work activities as per requirements.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks:

• Create revise and maintain engineering and record drawings and sketches.
• Support the creation revision and maintenance of facilities and equipment documents including construction equipment and property records.
• Obtain necessary information from verbal communication sketches marked drawings listings field notes vendor catalogs technical reference manuals and site visits.
• Perform mathematical calculations required for assigned work.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computeraided design software.
• Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Coordinate with other company organizations to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
• Read and incorporate information from vendor prints shop drawings and equipment operating instructions.
• Assist in training employees in basic position skills.
• Promote and support the companys Accident Prevention and Safety and Health programs.
• Demonstrate ethical behavior as outlined in corporate policies.
• Support Corporate Compliance policies.
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Associate degree in applied science (AAS) drafting and computeraided design (CAD) or in civil electrical or mechanical engineering technology with one to two years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively a high school diploma with six years of experience in electric utility and/or related industrial drafting and/or computeraided drafting work.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be available for overtime callout overtime and shift work for storm duty as required.
• Travel requirements: 25% of the time mainly within 45 minutes of Abilene with occasional travel outside this area for projects.
• Physical demand level: Sedentary.
• Must be familiar with conventional drafting symbols and methods and able to distinguish colors.
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and possess and maintain a valid state drivers license.
• Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law
