Overview
The IB MYP Physical Education Teacher plays a crucial role in delivering quality physical education in alignment with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) curriculum. This role requires a deep understanding of physical education pedagogy as well as the ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging physical education lessons in line with the IB MYP curriculum
- Facilitate student learning through effective demonstration and instruction of various physical activities
- Develop and implement differentiated and inclusive teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Integrate concepts of health wellness and physical fitness into the curriculum
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a coherent and interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning
- Assess and provide constructive feedback on student performance and progress
- Utilize technology to enhance the teaching and learning experience
- Organize and supervise extracurricular physical activities such as sports teams or fitness clubs
- Support the social and emotional development of students through physical education
- Contribute to the overall ethos aims and development of the schools physical education program
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Physical Education or related field
- Teaching certification or licensure in Physical Education
- Demonstrated experience in delivering physical education in an IB MYP setting
- Proficient understanding of the IB MYP framework and philosophy
- Ability to design and implement studentcentered inquirybased learning experiences
- Strong knowledge of appropriate physical education pedagogy and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students parents and colleagues
- Experience in developing and implementing assessments to measure student learning outcomes
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Capacity to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Familiarity with using technology to enhance teaching and learning

- Understanding of health and safety considerations in a physical education setting
