Job Opportunity: Senior Operations Analyst

A leading client of ours is looking for a highly skilled Senior Operations Analyst to join their Operations team. This permanent fulltime position is based in London and offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to support the daytoday running of payment services and other customerrelated services.

Days/Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Overall Job Purpose:
To perform all operational tasks to facilitate the daytoday running of payment services and other customerrelated services.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing payment transactions failing Straight Through Processing (STP) are authorized accurately and within deadlines (RTGS CHAPS Faster Payments Bacs) and assist with the reconciliations process daily.
  • Oversee the timely processing and maintenance of Direct Debits Standing Orders and related entries within the mandated operational schedule to effectively meet scheme schedule requirements.
  • Act as a first point of escalation to resolve customer internal and/or external bank queries relating to payments promptly and in line with service levels.
  • Oversee performance and validation of all static data tasks aligned with opening closing and daytoday account maintenance.
  • Provide subject matter expertise or identify the appropriate team resource to assist with the Reconciliations process when breaks arise.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by proactively working with colleagues to identify areas for improvement and suggesting solutions for the operations system communicating these to the Head of Operations and others.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers payment schemes and colleagues ensuring high service standards and making recommendations to improve services on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain an indepth understanding of AML KYC banking sanctions and FCA regulations to ensure compliance in handling customer accounts and client funds assisting with risk mitigation by following established controls and proposing improvements where needed.
  • Produce reports and management information as needed.
  • Support the Operations Team Leaders and others with ad hoc requests projects or routine duties.
  • Act as a delegate for Operations Team Leader as required.


Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Ideally 35 years of payments processing experience with specific knowledge of UK clearing systems.
  • Excellent customer management skills.
  • Strong operational skillset.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with various levels of seniority internally and externally.
  • Customer servicefocused background with a good understanding of banking in general.
  • Selfmotivated individual with attention to detail commercial awareness good judgment and decisionmaking skills.

Additional Notes:

  • As a Financial Services organization compliance with the requirements set by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is mandatory. This role falls under the Conduct Rules of the Individual Accountability Regime (IAR) and is subject to preemployment screening including a full credit check criminal record check residency and right to work checks.
  • The department operates Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7 pm and the successful candidate will be expected to work from the London office at least 4 days a week.

Good knowledge of FX derivatives. Ability to multi-task and detail oriented. Excellent communication skills, foreign languages a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
