Job Description

Job Description:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring proper nursing care at our facility. This role involves hiring, training, and scheduling staff nurses under their supervision. Collaboration with various departments within the organization is essential to provide nursing support as needed. The Director of Nursing also conducts nursing assessments, administers medication, and meets with clients to ensure compliance with medical directives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in multidisciplinary clinical settings
  • Oversight of nursing documentation and supervision of nursing staff
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care
  • Adherence to evidence-based guidelines and practices
  • Support for the recovery process
  • Implementation of appropriate interventions for physical and mental health
  • Medication knowledge and administration
  • Utilization of assessment data for problem identification


Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director for the daily clinical operation
  • Manage patient registration, authorization, billing, and collection processes
  • Participate in staff recruitment, retention, and training
  • Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures
  • Supervise the medication management system
  • Conduct nursing assessments at detoxification and residential levels
  • Collaborate with medical and counseling staff for client care
  • Achieve company objectives for patient care and fiscal goals
  • Engage in team treatment meetings and collaborative care
  • Meet clinic documentation requirements for reimbursements
  • Adhere to regulations governing treatment

Competencies:
  • Effective written and oral communication with healthcare professionals
  • Timely nursing assessments and documentation
  • Proficiency in waived testing and medication administration
  • Coordination of care with the medical team
  • Monitoring and documenting infection control
  • Protection of client record confidentiality
  • Medication reconciliation and control
  • State certification maintenance
  • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment regulations

Minimum Requirements:
  • Current and valid RN licensing
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years of substance abuse/mental healthcare experience
  • Education or experience in treating substance abuse disorders
  • Current CPR Certification or within the first 90 days of employment
