Job Description
Overview:
The role of an IBDP Fine Arts Teacher with Extended Essay is crucial to the schools arts education program. The teacher will play a vital role in shaping and delivering an engaging and comprehensive visual arts curriculum that aligns with the IBDP framework and effectively integrates the Extended Essay component.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and interactive Fine Arts lessons that adhere to the IBDP curriculum and the Extended Essay requirements.
- Guide students in their Extended Essay research providing mentorship and support throughout the process.
- Design and implement assessments that effectively measure students understanding and application of Fine Arts concepts and Extended Essay requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure crosscurricular opportunities for students to integrate Fine Arts with other subjects.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their artistic work and Extended Essay progress.
- Stay updated with current trends in visual arts and the requirements of the IBDP program to continuously improve curriculum delivery.
- Organize and supervise art exhibitions and performances to showcase students work to the school community and beyond.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of the IBDP curriculum.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Fine Arts Art Education or a related field.
- Recognized teaching certification with a focus on IBDP curriculum and Extended Essay guidance.
- Proven experience in teaching Fine Arts at the IBDP level.
- Demonstrated expertise in guiding students through the Extended Essay process.
- Strong understanding of assessment practices specifically tailored to Fine Arts and Extended Essay requirements.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for diverse groups of students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students colleagues and parents.
- Knowledge of instructional technologies to enhance Fine Arts instruction and Extended Essay research.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in Fine Arts education and the IBDP framework.
