Job Description

Assists the Superintendent in all aspects of crew management and must be qualified to supervise and manage the crew in the absence of the crew superintendent. In addition assists in a variety of duties for 3 squad leaders and 15 crew members. This includes but is not limited to supervising planning coordination administrative duties as assigned along with directing of field projects and wildfire assignments. Good to excellent communication skills both verbal and written and personal computer skills in various programs are needed and preferred. Must have a working telephone or reliable message phone contact and be available oncall 24 hrs a day 7 days a wk. during fire season. ANY & ALL TRAVEL TRANSPORTATION &/OR RELOCATION EXPENSES ACCRUED/ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY IN THIS POSITION IS NOT PROVIDED AND WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EMPLOYEE.

Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon drivers license and be insurable thru the tribal organization have a minimum of 4years of fire supervision experience be qualified by the National Wild land Fire Qualifications Standards for a Grade Level 6 Crew Boss and Grade Level 7 Strike Team Leader/TFLD/ICT4. Will be required to submit to and pass a medical exam(physical) arduous fitness test tribal/state/federal criminal background check(s) driving records check and a drug screening test prior to being hired.
