Project Engineer
About The Job:
It is the responsibility of the Project Engineer whether the focus is on Heavy Construction (bridge work/infrastructure/plant & process) or Building Construction (school and municipal markets) to manage all Project Engineer related duties efficiently & effectively. A successful Project Engineer is an ambitious individual with the desire to advance within the Company.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Manager and Site Superintendent
- Submittal Review and Processing
- Request for Information Processing
- Requesting Change Order Information from Subcontractors
- Drawing Documentation
- Processing Meeting Minutes
- PreConstruction Preparation of Scopes
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Work in both an office and field setting
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Well organized with an acute attention to detail
- Adapts easily to fluctuations in the workload as needed
- Selfmotivated dependable and able to work independently as needed
- A good listener with a professional demeanor
- Eager to learn and responds in a positive manner to direction and feedback from supervisor
- A team player with a positive attitude and desire to promote a productive work environment
- Ambitious with a desire to advance within the company
- Computer literate and willing to work with multiple project management estimating and scheduling software systems
- Proficient in PM Software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Adobe Acrobat Bluebeam HCSS
- HeavyBid HCSS HeavyJob Viewpoint Vista P6 AutoCAD and various client specific websites and portals
- Lives in the Chicagoland area
Preferred Education / Experience:
- Degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or a similar field of study or has qualifying experience
- Construction industry experience a plus
