Job Title: Budget Business Analyst
Job Location: Sacramento CA hybrid (mostly remote)

Duration: Longterm Contract

Job Description:

A minimum of five (5) years of experience (7 years preferred) tracking Project Budget expenditures line item balances detail Project allocation and expenditure tracking and reports. At least three (3) years of that experience (5 years preferred) analyzing monthly and average budget usage rates to report anomalies:

Activities and Tasks Performed:

• Work with Project leadership to track Project Budget expenditures and line item balances
• Work with Project team to detail Project allocation and expenditure tracking and reports
• Analyze monthly and average budget usage rates to report anomalies
• Develop a portfolio of budget reporting for various project governance reporting or meetings
• Continuously reconcile planned budget amounts to actual expenditure amounts
• Develop expenditure trend analysis and advise project management of trend impacts

Deliverables Produced:

• Summary and detailed project budget status reports
• Current and projected project budget and line item tracking
• Project budget utilization summary detail and per contract
• Monthly reconcile between planned and actual project expenditures
• Ad hoc and monthly budget status reports

Detailed Explanation of Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years experience (within the last five (5) years) as a business analyst with the following business analysis activities:

• business process analysis or reengineering

• (e.g. supporting conversion and transition to a new application)

Required Education/Qualification:

Baccalaureatelevel degree (Masters degree or doctorate preferred) in relevant technical specialty such as computer science management information systems computer engineering software engineering from an accredited university.
