Duties:
KPMG is looking for a UI Developer to join Ignition Tax Product KPMGs software engineering group responsible for building tools that enable teams of global accountants to perform complex tax and financial services for some of the worlds largest companies. As a member of the UI/UX Design team the UI Developer works within a product development team to translate the design teams mockups into a working user interface.
While in this role the UX Engineer is focused on the implementation of design while adhering strongly to CSS best practices accessibility interaction design usability and scalable frontend architecture taking a lead on entire user interface while collaborating with backend and fullstack developers to integrate business logic services and data sources.
Our ideal UI Developer is a crossfunctional developer who is as excited by design as they are by the latest UI development techniques.
They must possess the ability to build robust aesthetic and accessible interfaces without using thirdparty CSS libraries.
We look for highly communicative team players who will advocate for the user within development teams in order to build meaningful user experiences.

What youll be doing
Take ownership of the UI across the app you are working on to ensure a consistent and refined user experience.
Develop web UIs with a strong focus on frontofthefrontend best practices including layout interactions and accessibility.
Work within an agile team of backend and full stack engineers to integrate UI code with business logic services and data sources.
Advocate for the user and articulate design principles to the development team.
Convert Sketch/Figma prototypes into UI code and ensure technical feasibility.
Collaborate with UX designers contribute to design decisions and identify gaps.
Utilize and contribute to the Tax Design System an inhouse design system of UI components and patterns.
Refactor and optimize existing UIs.

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience as a UI developer or hybrid designer/developer.
Deep knowledge of CSS flexbox and grid layout and cuttingedge CSS techniques.
Confidence in writing CSS without third party UI libraries like Bootstrap and Tailwind.
Strong understanding of HTML semantics and accessibility.
Professional experience with modern UI frameworks preferably Angular 2 with TypeScript and JavaScript ES6.
Comfort using Git NPM Azure DevOps.
Crossfunctional creative and technical skillset to think like a designer and a developer.
Knowledge of HCI principles and how to incorporate them into daytoday development.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Experience with largescale enterprise applications is a plus.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Design or equivalent degree or experience required.
