- Citizenship Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen.

- Type of Employment: FullTime 40 hours per week.
- Estimate Pay: $25.48/hour.
- Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year occurring on day one.
- Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year occurring on day one.
- Paid Federal Holidays: Eleven (11) Paid Federal Holidays
Working Hours
The Medical Assistant (MA) will work Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with a 30minute unpaid lunch break. The MA will not work more than 40 hours a week.
Summary of Duties
The Medical Assistant will provide medical services for the prison population at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix NJ.
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited allied health or vocational school or community college allied health program.
- Disciplines covered may include Medical Assistant Certified Nursing Assistant Emergency Medical Technician etc.
- At least (1) one year of documented experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Must be CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified either by the American Red Cross (ARC)or the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Experience working in a correctional environment is preferred but not required.

Attire
The contractor is expected to wear professional clothing while on duty (scrub uniforms are approved). No khaki orange or green scrubs. The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employee will be performing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Daily checks of medical equipment and supplies in the urgent care room
- Obtain and record vital signs.
- Transcribe orders and recommendations from specialist consultants into the Bureau Electronic Medical Records (BEMR) system.
- Perform PPE and supply inventory.
- Perform signs/symptoms and temperature screenings for staff and inmates as needed under COVID19 Modified.
- Assist Bureau of Prison (BOP) medical staff with the administration of medication insulin and otherdirected medical treatments.
- Plants Tuberculosis Skin Testing (TST) and read results.
- Obtain 12Leads ECGs.
- Perform nasal swab testing as needed.
- Assists with other clinical tasks within the scope of certification as needed.
- Assist the Pharmacist with tasks within the scope of certification as needed.
- Review and comply with local institutional policy Bureau of Prison Program Review standards Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) American Correctional Association (ACA) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other state and federal regulations.
